About 2Translate

Most translation tools work on text. Real work happens in files: a contract in DOCX, a slide deck for a client, a subtitle track for a video, an en.json file that an app reads at runtime. Paste those into a text box and you lose the structure — then spend longer rebuilding it than translating it.

2Translate is a file translator. You choose a source and target language, upload a PDF, DOCX, PPTX, SRT or VTT, JSON or YAML, or Markdown file, and download the same file back, translated, with its layout, timing and placeholders intact.

It's being built for freelancers, developers localizing apps, students and small businesses — people who need good translations of real files without a localization department.

Where things stand

The product is in development and not available yet. This site currently hosts our guides on translating files well, whichever tool you use. When 2Translate launches, it will be announced on the home page, and everyone on the waitlist will get an email.

We'd rather be honest than impressive: there are no customer numbers or testimonials here because there are no customers yet.
